[100% Upgrades] The BOX Security Robot is pretty much a sitting duck unless you are careless. Be sure to Power Bomb and expose the ceiling hooks. If you go full-blown and attack it, it can damage you quite a bit especially since now that the ceiling is much lower, its jumps can reach you. Because of it's loose wiring, the water is electrified and can damage Samus as well. Not sure if a charged Diffusion Missile does more than a standard missile, but I think it does make a difference. By staying close to the doorway region, all that is needed is to destroy the missiles it fires at you. There are many signs that pointed to this unfortunate reality within the Federation (nothing we haven't seen before in previous sci-fi exploits and tales). The procurement of the Metroid Vaccine was probably a dead giveaway which shows the Federation maintained at least one cell sample from the hatchling. The SR388 recreation in Sector 1 is another one, but not as obvious in retrospect. The private and secret conversations also add to this, if Samus actually overheard the private conversation. The Metroids do not latch on to Samus as usual, possibly due to their recognition of the Metroid genetics within her. In lieu of that, they simply bump her around. Surprised the SA-X that followed you here didn't attack you, guess it sorta spazed out when it first glanced at the hibernation tubes of Metroids upon entering. Fusion has the most countdowns to date: the Main Boiler, the Metroid Breeding ... |

[100% Upgrades] Probably the only time you see a habitat sector completely void of enemies; however, I still found it odd that even though Sector 3 is clearly only guarded by a Level 1 Door lock much like Sector 4. Yet somehow, a Level 2 Door lock released them in... I don't know... The BOX Security robot doesn't offer a lot of time to attack it's center before it lobs a fire pillar bomb, making it necessary to stay as close as possible to it during the boss battle. You could hit it diagonally as well to distance Samus a bit more. I could've avoided the Missile upgrade at 5:30, since there is a more convenient opportunity to retrieve it and save a few seconds. Technically the data transfer room in Sector 2, TRO is still active since the SA-X only obliterated the doorway, and Samus could still get through the long way; however, it is likely that the coccooned caterpillars are blocking access, so I guess it makes sense to go to the Sector 6, NOC. |

A great project by the Whitehatters Computer Security Club (WCSC, www.whitehatters.org) at the 2012 USF Engineering Expo. They used XBox Kinect for motion sensor, wrote an app using Microsoft's Kinect API to interface wirelessly to a Legos MindStorms NXT robot which had a wireless camera. The bot navigated a challenge board, while the person drove using VR goggles and making arm motions, even as the audience watched on the big screen. Large crowds flocked to this exhibit all during the Expo, and kids old and young seemed to love it. It should have won first prize for student groups, IMHO. Must have been that East German judge... |
